He carried the curse so you don't have to
He carried that curse so you don’t have to!
◦As soon as you say YES to God you can expect opposition. Chaos, confusion, doubt! Expect the enemy to not leave you alone. The enemy will fight you, discourage you, wear you out so much that you stop contending for your promise.
◦2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV): “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
◦“Standing, standing,Standing on the promises of God my Savior; Standing, standing,I’m standing on the promises of God.”
◦Joshua 24:15 (NIV): “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
◦John 10:10 (NIV): “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

◦Acts 8. Simon the Sorcerer, also known as Simon Magus, is a figure mentioned in the New Testament, specifically in Acts 8:9-24. He was a magician or sorcerer in Samaria who amazed the people with his magic, leading them to believe he had divine power.

◦Genesis 34 Two sons: Simeon and Levi sister Dinah. In this passage Shechem rapes their sister, Dinah.
◦Simeon and Levi attacked the city, killing all the males, including Shechem and Hamor, and taking Dinah back. They also plundered the city, taking livestock, women, and children.
◦Jacob was displeased with Simeon and Levi’s actions, fearing it would cause surrounding nations to turn against him. In his final blessing (Genesis 49), Jacob curses their anger, saying, “Cursed be their anger, so fierce, and their fury, so cruel!” and foretells that they would be scattered in Israel.
◦Question: Was Jacob angry with sons or was he angry that he was seeing himself???
◦Look back over Jacob’s life. Genesis 27 Jacob, with the help of his mother Rebekah, deceived his father Isaac to receive the blessing intended for his older brother Esau. Isaac, old and nearly blind, asked Esau to hunt and prepare a meal before giving him the blessing. Rebekah instructed Jacob to disguise himself in Esau’s clothes and cover his hands with goatskin to feel hairy like Esau. Isaac, though suspicious, was ultimately convinced and gave Jacob the blessing of prosperity and dominion. When Esau discovered the trick, he was furious and planned to kill Jacob, forcing Jacob to flee for his life.
◦He is seeing the worst part of himself…BUT Thanks Be To God!
◦The principalities that are reigning over families are fierce, but it only takes one person (YOU) to change something!
◦One Person to change something…to get to church, to make that decision, to pray, to praise!
◦I Am (You Are) That One Person

◦Cancelled- He cancelled the record! They did not have a good record and YES he has something against you…BUT Jesus cancelled the lies of the enemy (anxiety, anger, addiction, poverty).
◦Disarmed principalities! You’re staying somewhere He does not want you to live in! You don’t have to live there anymore. Faith Not By Sight!
◦Nailed It To The Cross! Colossians 2:14 (NIV): “Having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” Matthew 16:24 (NIV): “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.’l
