Spirit of Babylon Part 2
Habakuk 2:2 “2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
◦ The spirit of Babylon is still work in the world.
◦ Point 1: Close the church
◦ -STONE 1 We deal with the reins! Perfect fine tune and prepare! We are helping to prepare you for what Hod has for you! Reins- deep heart, emotions, deep in your life. Dealing with hurt, pain, issues sin regret… things that will hold us back!
◦ -STONE 2 We multiply! Go and make disciples. We are advancing the kingdom of God. Matt 11:12- from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence and violent people have been reading it.
◦ -STONE 3 We Need His Power We need His Power. 2 chronicles 5:13-14. 13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; 14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.” They began to worship and the spirit of God fell upon the place! Hebrews 4:12 Word of God is alive and powerful. There is nothing in your life Hod cannot fix and restore.
◦ Point 2: Have the church Compromise
◦ -STONE 4 We express joy and thanks Acts 8:8- there was great joy in that city. Show the world our God is awesome
◦ -STONE 5 We preach the gospel
◦ -STONE 6 We protect unity Ephesians 5:25-27 “25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” When you talk about His bride the church, he takes issue.
◦ -STONE 7 We see with eyes of Hope! 2kings 6:15-17. “15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” Don’t do life alone! It’s so important! Every statistic says that the church is crumbling. The Spirit of Babylon is trying to shut the church down. Don’t be afraid those with us are more than those with them. There is power in numbers! Make it a priority for the kids! Don’t let the spirit of Babylon shut it down! “17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” Our prayer for the church is that they see their purpose their plans Grace, forgiveness , no weapon will prosper whats in them is greater than what’s in the world, head not the tail, eyes open! A plan for you!
◦ - STONE 8 We Love People! (Love never fails! ALL PEOPLE!). But we are NOT going to sugarcoat it! Hebrews 12:1 “1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”
◦ Point 3: Cut Off The Next Generation. Faith ends when life ends. News article-“School of 6 graders. They took the class to a strip club. Participation to dance on poles.”- spirit of Babylon.
◦ -STONE 9 We minister to Families! We must fight back! Acts 16:34 “34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.” You cannot do this by yourself. Healthy families build healthy churches.
◦ -STONE 10 We break the box! The box is there for those that think big. Joshua 3:2-4- “2 And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host;3 And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.” We cannot be scared to be where we have never been before!
◦ -STONE 11 We serve in Excellence! Big or small!
◦ - STONE 12 We speak to mountains! We are agents of change designed by God. 2Chronicles5:13 “13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;”. 1 Samuel 5:2-4. “2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.”
