-John 4:4 Now He (Jesus) had to go through Samaria
-John 4:18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”
◦ In Jesus’ journey, He tells disciples He had to go through Samaria and had conversation with a woman with a questionable past.
◦ What is a Jewish teacher doing in Samaria? Samaria was an area where most Jews avoided. This Samarian woman in particular was unclean and the people there were not respected. Jews avoided that area.
◦ There was a dialogue between Jesus and this woman at this well… Jesus asked would you give me a drink? She said You have nothing to draw water with and the well is deep.
◦ John 4:13-14 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
*Jesus broke all religious protocol!
◦ Jesus didn’t just wander there. He needed to go there for her. He waited for her.
◦ IT IS NOT BY ACCIDENT! The King is waiting on YOU! Living Water!
◦ Jesus NEVER gets into the details of her hot mess and doesn’t deal with her actions. WHY? BECAUSE He was after her HEART! - Setting up a Heart Transplant! It’s a Heart Thing!
✓ Heart- used 830 times in the Bible! Since He said it more than once He means business!
✓ If we deal with the cause (our HEART) then our actions will change accordingly.
◦ Religion says I need to change YOUR actions, but JESUS says we need to change your heart!
✓ We spend a lifetime trying to correct actions instead of our heart! WE NEED THAT HEART TRANSPLANT
Removing the disease of sin, unforegiveness, regret and then replace it with love, gentleness, kindness and peace!
◦ Give your heart to God! YOU don’t have to hide and try get things right. That’s Action and Ego.You don’t have to go and fix your actions…that happens after you give your heart your God!
✓ Use an Impact Connect Group: The groups are a tool to use to help you with the Heart Transplant! When you feel that your heart is filled with disappointment & hurt, the groups help replace it with the Living Water Life Everlasting
◦ John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the TRUE WORSHIPPERS will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
◦ Why did He quickly change His message from preaching to worship?
✓ Worship is a cleansing agent that cleanses your heart!
◦ TRUE WORSHIPPERS: True means real and intense!
◦ The enemy does not want an intense church.
◦ Our hearts are constantly under attack. The enemy is like a roaring lion. The enemy goes after the one thing he knows Jesus wants ALL OF…It’s the Heart!
◦ The enemy wants to corrupt and wants you to hold on to the past, bitterness. This is the enemy’s playground.
◦ We think getting a little bit of Jesus on Sunday morning work…well it won’t. (“Well” Water Example As A Cleansing Agent By Pastor.)
◦ This is why He said TRUE WORSHIPPERS! It has to be intense.
◦ Why? Because WORSHIP is a cleansing agent!
◦ Keep Going to church and connect groups, and fellowshipping…if you deal with the heart then the actions will take care of themselves.
◦ John 4:28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people. Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?
◦ SHE LEFT THE WATER JAR! She was expected to have the water when she went back…BUT…
