March 3, 2024 Unequally Yoked
◦Yoke- wooden beam that connects two large animals. Helps them to carry the burden together as partners. Like ox.
◦If one ox wants to go into a different direction, there’s going to be off balance…then in circles.
◦David Livingston- as people of God we should not desire to go back but go forward.
◦OX Yoke- like a three legged race. Work together to get to finish line, but if one person refuses then that person is dragged.
◦2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
◦Don’t be teamed up with those going in the wrong direction.
◦They’ll be heading places where light doesn’t want to go!
◦Psalms 23- lead me by the still waters. STILL WATERS- if sheep goes to rushing water it would cause the sheep to drown!
◦God won’t lead you to a place that will destroy you.
◦How can light love with darkness?
✓Don’t Do Life Alone! BUT You’re not meant to do life with everyone!
◦Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us
◦Spiritual Yoke- things that are no longer in your life but controls you. The damage that still controls you.
◦You might not still be in that storm but it’s still attached to you.
✓It might have been swept under the rug long ago but still yoked to the decision you make, things you do, and direction you take!
◦We get into this situation and you blame God!
◦He will lead you by still waters!
◦Break this Yoke in your life, and now run and go forward! RACE!
◦Hebrews 12:1 …And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us
◦Kaaba: Lay aside all the Yokes and break free and RUN AND RACE Intertwined and connect with your partner. LIKE A THREE LEGGED RACE!
◦Many life’s problems is being unequally Kaaba!!!
◦TIED UP WITH PAST. Examples:
◦A Fence…Offense! The offense is determining the direction you are going cause you are linked up to this unequally YOKED Kaaba!
◦Baggage! Hurts Pains The old …You don’t know what I’ve been through. You go in the direction of that baggage. Baggage will attract Baggage!
◦Fear! It’s guiding and directing you and running your life. Thinking you can’t do this or that…I can’t do a Bible study if they find out they might find out I don’t know scripture. If I raise my hands they might think I’m a hypocrite.
◦Weight! Generational weight. The Yoke that has been passed down from generation to generation. Come from Hot Mess Central. Our lineage..that weight…it’s waiting for you control you guide you. You can be the one to turn this around.
◦Vinegar! Bitterness with what happened in your life. Your life attitude whether you have Joy is determined.
◦Phone! Did I get the likes on social media.
Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing
