2 Kings 4:1
1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead, and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor has come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
◦ Go to your neighbors and get a bunch of jars
2 Kings 4:4
4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
◦ It says shut the door. Or be isolated, be hidden, stay to yourself.
◦ In all transitions it says shut the door!
◦ The prophet knew if she allowed certain people or influences they would talk her out of the miracle God was doing in her life!
◦ There are folks who will talk you out of your miracle/ your breakthrough in your life!
Ephesians 4:27
27 Neither give place to the devil.
◦ Don’t give the devil an opportunity in your life to work.
◦ The enemy will try to sell you some lie gimmick craziness just to wreak havoc.
◦ Someone needs to shut the door on some things in your life!
◦ God has a plan for you but the enemy will send someone to wreak havoc just to try to get you to open the door!
◦ Shut the door! On addiction, habit, toxic people…
Nehemiah 7:3
3 And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, everyone in his watch, and everyone to be over against his house.
◦ Don’t open the doors until the sun is hot- THE ENEMY WORKS IN DARKNESS!
◦ The enemy wants to lure you into the darkness where he has the advantage!
◦ In the darkest moments of our lives we want to be alone.
◦ Any way he can distort your purpose, where he can access some things in your life…some doors in your life.
3 Areas the enemy attacks:
◦ 1.) Thoughts!
◦ 2.) Eyes!
◦ 3.) Ears!
◦ Renew your mind. This includes what you see…And your Ears with what you listen to. How he can gain access to your thoughts…anyway he can. You need LIGHT
to fight the enemy. We fight by swinging aimlessly and if he can get you in a dark place where you don’t see the goodness of God. Rather than knowing the spirit you are battling. It’s not the person but the spirit behind it. Get behind me satan, he didn’t say get behind me, Peter!
Isaiah 60:1-2
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Matthew 16:18
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
◦ They were worshipping a god of pan! Which brought about the word panic!
◦ Nehemiah said to Guard your home!
Deuteronomy 6:6-9
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
