WE NEED TO GROW
Everything that is preached from Pastor Kendon is Actionable.
He gives instruction and correction to us, so we can fulfill our purpose in Christ.
· Its actionable, its encouraging, its uplifting, the instruction and correction is done with love.
· He makes me want to serve God – preach.
· He displays the attributes of Christ and sometimes does not even recognize it.
· Longsuffering, patience,
· understanding of where a person is in their walk,
· he’s persistent,
· he is ready in season and out.
· Pastor and his wife LOVE people with a Christ like love and acceptance.
Carry the presence of God
1. What does that mean why?
2. What does it require?
3. And oh, how humbling.
What does it mean to carry God’s Presence?
· To carry God’s presence means that wherever you go He goes as well.
It means that person is in constant communion with Him throughout their day, and as a result, God’s presence is displayed – shown through them.
Communion definition - the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a spiritual level
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.”
· The presence of God is simply a result of the Holy Spirit being present.
· Carrying God’s presence is God being present in a person’s life everywhere they go.
· And as a Follower, we have a promise from Jesus that He will always be with us wherever we go.
1. (Matthew 28:20) “…Jesus said, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”
2. (Hebrews 13:5) Jesus said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Followers have the Spirit of God within them to GROW we need to have the constant communion to achieve the action.
Why?
Carrying the presence of God should be our desire.
Exodus 33:15-16
“Then he (Moses) said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us? So, we shall be separate, Your people and I, from all the people who are upon the face of the earth.”
Moses made a great point. He basically said, “God, if Your presence doesn’t go with us what will make us different from everyone else in this world?”
· And the answer is…nothing!
· If God does not go with us, we will produce little to no fruit and we won’t look any different than the man or woman who doesn’t believe in God.
We want His presence to be with us! Why?!
· so that God can be glorified as the world see Him in us.
· so that the world can encounter God through our lives. – Through YOUR life!
What Does It Require?
We need to grow.
This is Jan. 1, 2023, there is no better time than today, right now to ask God,
1) What can I do to better serve, WHAT SHOULD I STOP DOING that your presence would be magnified?
James 4:8. says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
· (Ephesians 4:15) “grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ”
· (Ephesians 2:22) “also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit”
· the more that we draw near to God, the more that He will draw near to us.
· The more that we engage with Him in prayer and worship the closer He will be to us.
The closer we draw to God:
· The more God will manifest his presence in our lives.
· The more we impact other for Christ and further his kingdom.
Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers,[a] by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
Mathew 6.33 seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
It requires our willingness to worship the Almighty Creator no matter if we are on the mountain top or in the valley or climbing the mountain, its knowing that HE still deserves our praise, worship, and our service.
I am a testimony
Of Gods abundance of Grace, of Gods mercy, of Gods love.
· That if God can use me/ will use me……. Then he will you.
· If God will forgive me for what I have done, he will forgive you.
· If I carry God’s presence and His spirit be manifested in my life, it can more so for you…
Its humbling That:
· God knows the real me:
1) God also saw me act a fool on the ballfield
2) God also heard me lose my temper and use expletive language
3) He sees me as I am – The real me
He’s seen me angry
Envious
Jealous
Greedy
He’s seen me/you at our worst and He loves us more than anyone else can X2
He knows the real me, but he renews my mind, he reminds me of what Jesus did for me. That the righteousness of Christ justifies us.
This is Jan. 1, 2023, and there is no better time than today, right now to ask God,
1) What can I do to better serve, WHAT SHOULD I STOP DOING that your presence would be magnified?
