March 10, 2024 Are you living a surrendered life?
Part 2 Unequally Yoked!
◦Paul coined the phrase…unequally yoked.
◦2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
◦Don’t be yoked not going in the same direction. Those not heading towards the purpose of God, the Will, the Things of God.
◦Someone chasing and always talking about the purpose of God. Some that will encourage you in the things of God.
◦Matthew 15:14. Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
◦I need someone that will believe and it’s not the blind leading the blind.
◦You’re not meant to do life alone but not meant to do life with everyone.
◦John 6:66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
◦You need people to do life with but not everyone can go with you.
✓You need to WATCH (being alert) for SUBTRACTERS (those that take strength from you).
◦There are friends that the enemy will send in your life.
◦Ask…do I have subtracters in my life? People taking the strength from you. Those that will separate you from the right people.
✓LOOK! Look up to where my help comes from. For ADDERS (those that encourage you and make you better)
◦Qavah- to be intertwined. Like a three legged race.
◦Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
◦Wait on the Lord..when God moves and you move! Intertwined with God (John 15).
◦Peter followed Jesus from a distance…enemy’s greatest tool is to have you follow from a distance.
◦Numbers 9 15-23 The Cloud Above the Tabernacle. On the day the tabernacle, the tent of the covenant law, was set up, the cloud covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire. That is how it continued to be; the cloud covered it, and at night it looked like fire. Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the Israelites set out; wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped. At the LORD’s command the Israelites set out, and at his command they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they remained in camp. When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites obeyed the LORD’s order and did not set out. Sometimes the cloud was over the tabernacle only a few days; at the LORD’s command they would encamp, and then at his command they would set out. Sometimes the cloud stayed only from evening till morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they set out. Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out. Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. At the LORD’s command they encamped, and at the LORD’s command they set out. They obeyed the LORD’s order, in accordance with his command through Moses.
✓They only moved when the cloud moved!
◦Envision…the cloud would move in a few days..sometimes overnight…you never knew! They would just get settled and then move again!
◦It doesn’t say in the Bible that they would get frustrated.
◦They were in synch with the Father. Not led by discouragement or frustration. They moved.
✓Control and security is the ultimate idol in humanity. It’s proved time and time again that we would exchange anything for a taste of it.
◦Ephesians 1:20-23 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
◦HE IS IN CHARGE OF IT ALL!
◦He has the final word on everything. Christ rules the church.
◦Job demanded answers- Job 38
◦How often are we like Job…Are you demanding on Him or are you depending on Him?
◦Trusting..Depending on Him. Not my will but His will.
◦Qavah! Intertwined!
◦Are you living a surrendered life?
◦It’s one thing to say it to someone. But to say it to God..I surrender myself! All that I am and all that I have! Everything!
◦What do I surrender? My Life! My Will To You!
✓I don’t have my grip on anything!
✓Letting Go!
◦This is why we are all tired and frustrated. Worn out! Until you get to the point that it’s no longer my will but the Lords Will then we will walk and not faint!
◦Psalm 27:14 Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
