Pastor Kendon & Stephanie Alexander
In 2013 we felt called to plant a church. After much discussion and prayer we laid a fleece before God. While driving with the family one day, God spoke through our son Josiah when he innocently asked “Where do they need us both?” My wife, Stephanie, and I looked at each other knowing exactly where that need was.
I grew up in Follansbee and have seen this area fall to addiction and poverty through the years. My heart breaks for our community. We knew that planting a church here would not be easy, but we had to go where his light is dim knowing that if he was in it no devil could stand against us!
My wife and I, along with our two boys, packed up and moved to WV in 2013 to begin meeting with others who wanted to see a life-giving church in the Ohio Valley. With a remnant of people, we began to lay a foundation through outreaches and Bible studies, meeting in our living room for nearly a year. Then in 2014 we officially opened the doors to Impact Church on a beautiful Easter Sunday and have witnessed God add to the house through these past 6 years.
We have met in various places, from Follansbee Community House to a cold, dusty union hall to the Milsop in Weirton. God opened doors for us to settle at our current location in 2015. We are quickly outgrowing this facility and trusting God for where he will lead us next.
